Time Management Tips

Time Management

Things rarely get accomplished if we don’t make time for them, and unfortunately, we don’t always prioritize the tasks that will move us forward because they’re difficult. The most common excuse for not getting things done, or pursuing our passions is: “I don’t have enough time”. Nonsense - we all have the time, we just don’t always manage it that well. What can you spend less time doing in order to invest more time into your values and goals? Scrolling on social media? Watching Netflix? Replace these unbeneficial “time wasters” with a task that will propel you forward, such as: meditation, journaling, reading something educational, calling a friend or family member, networking, assessing your progress against your goals, brainstorm an idea for your business, etc. Schedule in the things that matter to you and that will move you in the direction of your goals. Put time on your own calendar, set reminders, goals, and deadlines. Invest in yourself and the things that matter to you most, and your life will drastically change for the better.

Here are some time management tips for optimizing your time and progress:

  • Don’t Multi Task

    • Focusing on one thing at a time increases focus and productivity

  • Time Blocking

    • Block out time for “Creative” tasks vs. “Logical” tasks

  • Plan out your schedule at least one week in advance

  • Based on what you’re trying to accomplish, choose a “momentum-building” task or a “confidence-building” task

    • Starting with easier tasks builds momentum

    • Starting with harder tasks builds confidence
